In honor of Katharine Hepburn's birthday yesterday, May 12th, I will be including her in my movie marathon tomorrow to start catching up after my short hiatus. Sorry about that by the way...it has been a crazy couple of weeks. Don't worry though! The hundred movies will still be done in a hundred days. Anyway. I did watch Katharine Hepburn's interview with Dick Cavett yesterday and it was awesome. I could listen to her for hours and hours. She has this way of stating exactly how she thinks and feels so intelligently. Very straight forward and never wavering in her beliefs. She did not judge others' ideals, but also never doubted her own. The truly open minded person has this ability. Steadfast in your beliefs but respecting all others. Live life being kind to others and you will be happy. Be active and as healthy as possible. Socially conscious and progressive. Her mother was a suffragette and a founder of Planned Parenthood. Her father was an urologist and informed people against venereal diseases. This was strange for upper class New Englanders. She was taught from a young age to speak her mind without being "idiotic" about it. She is a true guide for young girls. An example of strength of mind and character. A wonderful role model. She also has one of my favorite quotes.
I cannot agree more...one of my favorite Katharine Hepburn quotes is "I don't care what people say about me as long as it is not true."
